From Davao to Stuttgart: EU CopPhil Scholar Advances Earth Observation Skills for the Philippines

In this video, Judy Ann C. Mejorada-Wenceslao, the first EU CopPhil scholar, shares her experience as she advances her expertise through a Master’s degree at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, specialising in photogrammetry, geoinformatics, and Earth observation. Her studies are equipping her with skills in land cover analysis, benthic mapping, and ground movement monitoring, which are relevant for environmental management and disaster risk reduction.

Local Government Unit Training in Cebu City

Following four training sessions delivered in 2025 and early 2026, the CopPhil Technical Assistance (TA) component conducted an additional Local Government Unit (LGU) training in Cebu City (Region VII) from 2 to 5 March 2026. The course forms part of a broader series of thirteen training packages designed primarily for LGUs.

EU CopPhil Scholar goes to Europe for Master’s Degree

Judy Ann C. Mejorada-Wenceslao, a staff member of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) in Davao was awarded the first EU CopPhil Scholarship. She will pursue a Master’s degree in Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics at the Stuttgart Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany, starting in the summer semester of 2026.
