CopPhil Showcases EU-Philippines Earth Observation Collaboration at Philippine Space Week

We are pleased to announce the participation of the European Union’s Copernicus Capacity Support Action Programme for the Philippines, or CopPhil, in the Philippine Space Week Exhibit. The event will take place from 8 to 10 August at Gateway Mall in Araneta City, Cubao.

As a flagship initiative of the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy, CopPhil continues to strengthen the uptake and application of Copernicus Earth Observation (EO) data to support sustainable development and innovation across the country. This year’s Philippine Space Week, with the theme “Yamang Kalawakan ay Likas sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan” (space is vital to a prosperous future), provides an opportunity to share our work, highlight the partnerships that make it possible, and engage with the growing space and EO community in the Philippines.

Programme Highlights

  1. First Contact: Bridging Space, Sustainability, and Society

Date: 8 August 2025

Time: 1:00pm to 5:00pm PHST

This session will highlight the formal handover of the CopPhil Mirror Site from the European Union to the Philippine government. The programme will also include:

Throughout the exhibit period, our team of experts will be available at the CopPhil booth to provide deeper insight into the service products developed within our EO-based pilot service activities, answer questions from the public, and connect with members of the Philippine Earth Observation community.

We look forward to meeting students, professionals, and stakeholders from across the country!
