CopPhil First Light Inaugural Event

On 17 October 2024, the CopPhil Centre hosted its “First Light” inaugural event, where it unveiled the initial results of the Centre’s activities to strengthen and promote the operational uptake of free and open Copernicus data in the Philippines.

The event showcased the first results of key components of the CopPhil initiative, including its IT infrastructure and the development of Earth Observation-based pilot services in three thematic areas.

This milestone event of the EU’s Global Gateway strategy included the participation of representatives of the Philippine Space Agency, the EU Delegation to the Philippines, the Philippine Department of Science and Technology, and the European Space Agency.
