EU CopPhil Scholar goes to Europe for Master’s Degree

Judy Ann C. Mejorada-Wenceslao, a staff member of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) in Davao was awarded the first EU CopPhil Scholarship. She will pursue a Master’s degree in Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics at the Stuttgart Technical University of Applied Sciences in Germany, starting in the summer semester of 2026.

Over the course of the year, The CopPhil Centre advanced the deployment of its Earth Observation services, strengthened the technical and institutional capacity of Philippine stakeholders, and consolidated its visibility across major events and forums in the Philippines and the wider ASEAN region. These efforts leveraged the close collaboration between European and Philippine partners, ensuring that the services, tools, and training delivered closely match real operational needs.

EU-Philippine Collaboration on Earth Observation Celebrated at Philippine Space Week

CopPhil was featured at the 2025 Philippine Space Week Exhibit, running from 8 to 10 August at Gateway Mall, Araneta City, Cubao. Now on its second year at the exhibit, CopPhil highlighted how Copernicus Earth Observation (EO) data can be used to address pressing national challenges from environmental monitoring to climate resilience.
